Long runner

Whenever I run for more than 20 minutes on the treadmill, the trainer puts up a public notice, "Treadmill strictly for 20 minutes".

So the other day, I catch up with him, "Why do you always put up this notice whenever I run a little extra?"

"Don't be silly, ma'am, it's not for you!"

"See, sometimes I really feel good sweating and don't want to stop, so I just go on. My body starts warming up only after 20 minutes..."

"Of course, ma'am, you are one of my best members."

"But it's not everyday. Maybe twice or thrice a week."

"This notice is for the others..."

"Who others? It's in my face."

"You know, the afternoon ladies never want to get off the treadmill. You don't worry, you carry on."

"Listen, I will pay extra for it."

"Ma'am, now you are embarrassing me. Please use it for as long as you want."

So I go on. For an hour sometimes. Against rules that are made, knowing fully well they are made for me. But I guess the trainer will have to suffer me till he gathers the guts to tell me on my face, or charge me more.

Or till, I am ready to move myself to another gym.

gratis: Where are you? Maharaj giving you no time to blog?

atul: Hardly punishment. I LOVE working out. Gives me the biggest high.

sudipta: Yesyes. And I am immortal :)

stone: No, some plain manipulation. What to do.

tanushree: I am not the usual rule breaker but here I do. Of course after being assured that it doesn't apply to me :)

priyanka: I wish working out was synonymous to getting into tip top shape. I am far from the shape I would like to be in.

varsha: I know. Even I feel great when I go on for an hour.

mistress of magic: It's all about getting used, I think. My energy level dips if I take a long break.

dreamcatcher: I am glad you see it positively :) People almost avoid me for the amount I chase them to start gymming.

Anumita I am sorry to say this but people who do not get off the treadmill in spite of the "30 minutes on cardio machines" irk me to no end!!! Guess what I got so tired of waiting on people being impolite by ignoring the signs I took membership at another gym that has no time limit.

velu: Try it. It feels divine!

abhishek: Tut! Tut! You should appreciate the fat guy's efforts. He's working so hard. I of course do not let the sweat drip and wipe it before. AND I DO NOT STINK :)

sinusoidally: You are right. They irk me too. Please note that, I only run extra when there isn't anyone waiting to use it after me. I usually go at a time when the gym is almost empty and the machines are idle. The moment I see someone waiting, I jump off in 20 mins or even before.

perspective inc.: You find it funny? Thank god!

manoj: It's all a matter of habit. The more you run, the more your stamina increases.

raka: Thanks, raka.

arunima: On days I do that too :)

sherriff: Advisable or not, I dont know. (I am much much older to Budhia!) But I have always been exercising and working out... so I just do whatever makes me feel good. But I never stress myself.

sangita: No marathons. I am lazy that way.

hope and love: Now I am feeling like a freak! Actually it's not everyday, just once in a rare while.

ganga: You smoke? I think the moment you start the gym, you will find it easier to give up smoking. Trust me.

monk15ad: If I cross 10 mins at a moderate steady pace, I can go on forever :)

venkat: It's indeed less for me. But the others are happy and it's a small gym. So expected to adjust.

shub: Not everyday. I think I should rephrase that.

educatedunemployed: You are so right. But like I told sinusoidally before, I do not keep anyone waiting and only go on for longer when the machines are idle.

alapana: Just promise to reward yourself with something really nice if you start the gym. It should work :)

pallavi: Lucky you! Yes, he needs to run but I have noticed he goes breathless in 5 minutes if he ever steps on the treadmill.
